Iley Dread looks forward to JAMBANA debut

Reggae singer Iley Dread, who also goes by the stage name Chardavid, is excited at performing for the very first time on the internationally acclaimed JAMBANA™ One World Festival, which takes place at the Markham Fair Grounds, Ontario, Canada on Sunday August 2 and Monday August 3, 2015.

The 7th annual JAMBANA™ One World Festival, presented by Jones & Jones Productions Ltd, sees an incredible fusion of world cultures over two fantastic days. Iley Dread’s (Chardavid) performance is courtesy of mega reggae label, VP Records and is presented by telecoms giant, Digicel.

According to VP Records head honcho, Chris Chin, “Jones & Jones is known to produce some of the most widely recognized events in Canada.  JAMBANA™ One World Festival is known around the world for being festive and a great platform for showcasing amazing talent in all genres.   Iley Dread is a hometown favorite so you know him taking the stage is a must!”

And, truth be told, Iley Dread (Chardavid) is itching to take the stage. Still on a high from an exhilarating  performance at ‘Reggae ‘til Sundown’ alongside the Messenjah, Luciano, the Dread had words of praise for the organisers of the event and also  the President of VP Records. The Lovers Holiday singer was also quick to announce to his fans that they should expect nothing but the best.

“It’s a wonderful feeling to be performing on the JAMBANA™ One World Festival and I want to personally  thank the organisers and of course, VP Records for this opportunity. Chris Chin, the president (of VP) and I go back a long way and I can always count on VP for support over the years, whether I am doing work as a producer, a promoter or an artiste,” Iley Dread (Chardavid) declared.

Meanwhile, the conscious reggae singer is working on two albums simultaneously, one of which is a gospel offering, tentatively entitled Jordan River. He is also confirmed for the Caribbean in December when he heads to the twin island Republic of Trinidad & Tobago for a concert. “The Caribbean is one of my all-time favourite places for both performances and relaxation. It’s long overdue and I can’t wait to see my people in Trinidad & Tobago,” Iley Dread (Chardavid) said.

The JAMBANA™ One World Festival runs from 1:00 pm to 9:30 pm both days.  This year’s festival is supported by long-time television partner, Global Toronto and new addition for 2015, the Toronto Sun. Other artistes on the impressive line-up include Alison Hinds, Kabaka Pyramid, Exco Levi, Australian born artiste Natali Rize & Notis, Ernie Smith, Nana McLean, Majah Hype, Steele, George Banton, Kiprich, Fab 5, Hip Hop Queen Michie Mee,  Ikaya and Dalton Harris, to name a few.  Patrons also have a host of pavilions to visit such as the Food Village, Children’s Village, Health Village, Education Village, VIP Village, Domino Village, Travel & Trade Village, and the Global Village.

Iley Dread (Chardavid)  will be backed by the world renowned Fab 5 band out of Jamaica.
