On Friday October 28th, 2016 Montreal’s own Scroogie of renowned Sound System “Little Thunder”, will debut their production label “Little Thunder Music” with the release of their project, “Scroogie Tropics”. A rhythm compilation, the album features renowned artists Kaisha Lee, Lukie D, Lutan Fyah, Turbulence, Sizzla and Montreal’s uprising songstress, Kayla Allen.
With a smooth, yet modernized reggae rhythm, the chosen artists speak on a range of topics from culture, love, to life’s struggles and how they may be overcome. This album was influenced by the realities of life and seeks to provide vicarious experiences, peace of mind and hope for others.
The album will be distributed by VPAL and will available on all major digital platforms and can be streamed on Spotify.
Scroogie has been in the musical environment from as early as age 13 with his professional career taking off about 16 years ago. As one of the Founders and owners of ‘Little Thunder’ sound, Scroogie with its other members Don and Johno are responsible for breaking the ice and putting Reggae\Dancehall on another level in Montreal.
His many years of experiences in music coined with his adequate business knowledge allowed him to garner many accomplishments; some of which include: copping the award for Sound of the year in Canada for 2008, and being invited to Sound Clashes to challenge sounds from Canada, USA and most recently Killamanjaro from Jamaica. He is one of Montreal’s successful reggae event promoters and continues to contribute the Canadian music industry.
