On the often-unmentioned island of St. Vincent and the Grenadines stands a lanky, possibly 6-foot tall soca star that the world will one day come to appreciate. His voice, demeanor, style, energy and vibe are straight up, fiery and extraordinary. Skinny Fabulous whose real name is Gamal Doyle- is the REAL DEAL.
In 2008, his name began calling in soca circles. He had made the breakthrough he’d anticipated after years of being known as a “chanter”- singing in his baritone voice to crowds that lapped up his flavor. Back then he had sang “Head Bad” in St. Vincent and since then, his name has not stopped calling.
Annually, Skinny Fabulous is included in the carnival lineup in T&T, appearing at fetes and leaving his mark no doubt. He has been a part of Machel Montano’s Machel Monday concert event several times and will likely share the stage with the soca heavyweight for many years to come. In March last year, the single collaboratively done with Montano- “Go Hard” was used by international sport network, ESPN and had been contractually shared for a four-month period. The single would be played across ESPN’s channels worldwide, for the period.
Skinny Fabulous is not only a singer, but also writes his music. He has collaborated with several Caribbean entertainers, among them, Fay-Ann Lyons, Kevin Lyttle, Bunji Garlin and Peter Ram.
Skinny Fabulous will be live in Montreal on Saturday October 5, 2019 inside the Caribbean Food Factory. Get your advance tickets today!
