Chris Brown & Drake’s ‘No Guidance’ Hits No. 1 on R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay Chart

Chris Brown collects his eighth No. 1 on the R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart as “No Guidance,” featuring Drake, lifts 3-1 on the list dated Aug. 24. The song climbs thanks to an 8% boost to 32.1 million in audience in the week ending Aug. 18, according to Nielsen Music.

An eighth No. 1 ties Brown with Jay-Z, R. Kelly and Alicia Keys for the fourth-best sum among all artists since the chart began in 1992. Featured artist Drake, meanwhile, posts his record-extending 26th leader and moves 11 No. 1s ahead of the silver medalist, Usher.

“Guidance” gives Brown his first No. 1 on the list since his featured turn on Meek Mill’s “All Eyes on You,” which led for one week in 2015. As a lead act, he last visited the summit nearly five years ago. In October 2014, his track “New Flame,” featuring Usher and Rick Ross, reigned for four weeks.

Drake, meanwhile, checks into the penthouse for the first time since “Nice For What” clocked five weeks in charge in May 2018.

Elsewhere, “Guidance” improves its standing on the Adult R&B Songs airplay chart with a 23-22 climb through 26% surge in plays in the week ending Aug. 18. It likewise ascends on the Pop Songs airplay chart (34-31) as it pulls a 17% boost in plays.
