International intrigue in new Alborosie gangster themed video!

Reggae star Alborosie releases the two-track digital single “Ginal Dub featuring Collie Buddz” pairing a new harder-edged mix and the original version this Friday, November 5th.  

The single is accompanied by a gangster themed music video shot on location at the Crowne Gardens Retreat, Jamaica and Aradeo, Italy at the famed Skatafashow Restaurant. The music video features performances by Italian character actors Sandro Pizzuto, Giampiero Colì, Andrea Buttazzo, Oronzo Paladini, Simone Guido, Arianna Miccoli, and Stefani Bruno, and Alborosie playing a Jamaica based crime boss – all to portray the meaning of the phrase ‘ginal.’ 

The video depicts international intrigue, as area ‘Dons’ in a game of poker are ‘tricked’ when a pair of females grab all the winnings in a deceptive hustle orchestrated by ‘the boss’ in Jamaica. Directed by Papel Studio the video brings the lyrics of the song to life.Global Release date for “Ginal Dub” – November 5th, 2021
Ginal: How it came about 

The collaboration between Alborosie and Collie Buddz was born out of a mutual respect between the artiste / producers witnessed by the Alborosie single “See You Again” on the CaliRoots Riddm (produced by Collie Buddz). Collie Buddz has stated that his first time listening to “Ginal” he “could feel it,” The Bermudian reggae artiste first appeared on the music scene in 2007, with several chart-topping hits including “Come Around,” “She Gimme Love,” and “Blind To You” to his credit.  The single for “Ginal Dub” is accompanied by the live action music video, conceived by Alborosie and filmed in Italy and Jamaica.

“Ginal (feat. Collie Buddz)” is taken from “For The Culture,” the latest album from Alborosie. Guest performers on the album are Collie Buddz, Jo Mersa Marley (“Ready”), Quino of Big Mountain (“Where Do You Go”) and Wailing Souls (“Life To Live”). The release was accompanied by multiple music videos for the focus tracks and singles with a series of visualizers dubbed ‘Visual-i-Jahs,’ conceived and directed by Alborosie and long-time creative partner Tony Fisher, to support the release of the album.
